The Lincolnshire Children's University

Are you aged between 5 and 14? Want some amazing out-of-school-hours learning experiences?

The School Newspaper Project is pleased to have joined forces with the University of Lincoln’s Children’s University to become an official learning destination. This is a great opportunity for all the activities involved with the project to be validated in your Children’s University Passport.

The Lincolnshire Children’s University is a scheme for 5-14year olds, which takes out-of-school-hours learning to a whole new level. Children receive a Passport to Learning, which they take with them to different Learning Destinations (e.g. after-school clubs, museums, sports clubs etc.), to earn stamps for their dedication to their own learning.

Once children have completed at least 30 hours of extracurricular learning, they will be invited to attend a special Children’s University graduation ceremony at the University of Lincoln, where they can celebrate their achievements and receive a certificate, whilst wearing a mortar board and gown.

The Lincolnshire Children’s University strives to provide children with a huge variety of learning experiences that they might not otherwise experience; encouraging them to foster a love of learning. We aim to raise aspirations by broadening children’s horizons, while boosting their confidence and sense of achievement.
